Do You Understanding Color Theory?

In this video I go through the process of creating color and value blocks. These are great tools to use as you study how light and shadow effect the value and hue (color) of an object.

I am not smart enough to come up with this great stuff on my own so, I stole it! I got it from Richard Robinson, a New Zealand artist. He has put together some really great “Mastering Color” lessons that do a wonderful job of taking the highly technical subject of color theory and breaking it down in such a way that even someone as mentally challenged as I can understand!

I highly recommend the course and no I am not affiliated with him in an way! I just bought his course and really have enjoyed it, so I wanted to share it with all of you. You can check it out at www.livepaintinglessons.com/colour.php

Do you know of some great online resources to help increase our understanding of the art of Oil Painting? If so let us know about it by clicking on the “comments” below and pointing us in the right direction! Or if you just have a question please ask it in the comments below. I love to help other artist such as yourself to improve in their painting. We can all grow together!

You can also join me and some of my students at FineArtExperience.ning.com. This is a online community I have recently started for artist to come together and learn from each other. Come on by and join in the fun!
