Petrarch - The Perfect PAideia Student
Well I think we finally have a composition and are ready to paint this portrait. After taking a few weeks to knock out some other pressing things, I am back at the Petrarch portrait project!
Here is the final comp for the painting. Look for updates over the next week or so of the painting process and hopefully the handing over of the finished portrait to the new owner. Should be exciting!
Petrarch - The Creation of the Perfect Student! Part 4
In this episode of “Petrarch - The Perfect PAideia Student” I look at the angle of the light and the position of the viewer. I recruit the help of my son Zane to sit on his sister’s bed as I take many pictures from different angles to see how we want to orient Petarch to the window. Creating a portrait like this takes a lot of thought to be able to pull off. Stay tuned as we get to the point of putting paint to canvas!

In this episode of “Petrarch - The Perfect PAideia Student” the team took all of the brainstorming ideas and pulled them together into a workable composition. There is much more planning to a portrait like this than meets the eye! There are a lot of characteristics that we have been tasked to build into this portrait and it is proving to be a challenge! But we are up to it!
